Bárbara suffered censorship on other occasions

It is not the first time that the digital influencer has been censored this year. In January, by order of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court, several profiles were removed from the air . Teacher Paula Marisa, youtuber Monark and Bárbara herself were on the list.

At the time, Bárbara talked to Oeste and explained that she was not even notified. “In the morning, my Instagram was stuck in Brazil – without any kind of explanation”, she pointed out. “There is no way we can ask for views of the process, because there is no process number. We weren’t even notified of anything, as if the process didn’t exist. We don’t even know where that overthrow order came from. Now, at the end of the day, my Twitter is also down. What is happening is mass censorship of the opposition, as it happens in all dictatorial regimes.”

The authoritarian escalation even scared left-wing journalist Glenn Greenwald . At the time, the former head of the Intercept said that “the censorship regime in Brazil is growing rapidly”. He considered the measure “shocking”, as the determination reaches several social media platforms, such as Instagram and Twitter.
