Alexandre de Moraes in the presidential race? Valdemar Costa Neto sees signs of candidacy

Valdemar Costa Neto, the PL president , is convinced of a great turnaround in the Brazilian political scene: according to him, Minister Alexandre de Moraes is preparing to launch his candidacy for the presidency of the Republic.

Costa Neto notes that Moraes has been paving his way for the electoral political scenario, although still without a defined schedule. Later this year, in December, the minister will reach the age of 55, a phase in which, perhaps, he is contemplating a return.

Moraes has a significant track record in politics, having performed key functions in São Paulo, including as Secretary of Justice during the government of Geraldo Alckmin. His political journey also has important passages as Secretary of Transport and Services in the management of Gilberto Kassab in the city of São Paulo. Subsequently, he reassumed a prominent position in the Alckmin government, serving as Secretary of Security, before culminating his political career as Minister of Justice in the term of Michel Temer.

Now, it remains to wait and see if Costa Neto’s predictions about Moraes’ trajectory will materialize on the national political stage.
